We all know Sequels are not always the best experiences when it comes to film, especially a cult classic such as the Dune series. But... the genius and visionary Vellanue has done it yet again.
Having watched the first film a couple dozen times, I knew within the first 30 minutes of the sequel I would be doing the same. The sequel is nothing less than action-packed, with great dialog and beautiful scenery.

Being a huge fan of character development I admire how Villeneuve and the writers have guided Paul's journey. Watching Paul grow from a soft-spoken, overly humble, and unassured person to someone who's grasped his power and stepped into his leadership, really shows the time and care they've put into his character, not to mention Timothée Chalamet has taken Paul to new heights. Chani's character has also been a beautiful journey to witness as she was once stern, guarded, and skeptical (rightfully so) to being open and valuable with Paul as she saw the care and passion he had for her people as well.

Constantly behind the camera, I tend to not only watch a film but digest and analyze it as well (it's a gift and a curse). The Dune sequel leaves all of your senses engaged. The unique sound design leaves your imagination to wonder while still informing you that you're ears are hearing exactly what they should, watching it in theater also helps amplify those small but mighty sounds that give the film more of its character. The VFX were nothing less than perfect as they take you deeper into a world you've never seen yet still feel familiar. I do not think there could be a better director to carry this film sequence better than Denis Villeneuve himself, with another cult classic such as Blade Runner, or Arrival, it's clear that Dennis understands the balance of how to keep us engaged in plots that could very easily go off the hinge. The news of its third installment being greenlit only confirms other's belief in Vallanue and the team as well. Another Masterpiece has been born again.
